Sheriff Ron Ridley reports that a 30 year Jetmore woman was arrested on drug charges on Sunday, July 7th following a search of her residence in the 700 block of Main Street by the Hodgeman County Sheriff’s Office.
Shawna Herrman was arrested after the Sheriff’s Office discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during the search Sunday night. Herrman also faces charges of Child Endangerment. Sheriff Ridley states that those charges stem from the drugs and drug paraphernalia being found in a location easily accessible by the small child who resides at the home. “Protecting drug endangered children is a priority for the Sheriff’s Office as more children are being exposed to dangerous drugs because of their parents’ addiction. These are truly innocent victims who have no control over the potentially dangerous environment they are placed in,” Ridley advised.
Herrman is the most recent arrest as the Sheriff’s Office and the Southwest Kansas Drug Task Force continue to investigate drug related crimes in Hodgeman County. Sheriff Ridley characterized his agency’s investigation as “on-going”.
