SHERIFF EXECUTES DRUG WARRANTS

On 06/19/2012 the Hodgeman County Sheriff’s Office along with other partner agencies in the Southwest Kansas Drug Task Force served two drug search warrants in the City of Jetmore.

Sheriff Ron Ridley advised that search warrants were executed at a business the 600 block of Main Street and at a private residence in the 300 block of Clay Street.  The warrants found drugs and drug paraphernalia at both locations.

Kelly R. Clarke, 44, of Jetmore and Jeron M. Barham, 18, of Dodge City were taken into custody at the Main Street location.  Clarke faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, multiple counts of use of a communications facility to facilitate a drug crime and multiple counts of child endangerment.  Barham faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. “Because this is a Drug Task Force Case, prosecution is handled by a Kansas Assistant Attorney General attached to the Task Force who specializes in the prosecution of drug cases and cases involving drug endangered children.” Ridley stated.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on Tuesday by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Ness County Sheriff’s Office, the Dodge City Police Department and canine units from the Gray County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodge City Police Department. The Southwest Kansas Drug Task Force is comprised of state, county, and local law enforcement agencies in a 19 county area of Southwest Kansas.

Sheriff Ridley characterized the investigation as “ongoing” and declined to comment on whether other arrests might be made in conjunction with this investigation
