On Monday, 02/13/2012 the Hodgeman County Sheriff’s Office executed a drug search warrant in the 400 block of Kenyon in Jetmore with the assistance of other member agencies from the Southwest Kansas Drug Task Force.
Sheriff Ron Ridley advised that this most recent search warrant is part of a continuing investigation of drug activity by the Sheriff’s Office. Jay B. Cohoon, 56, of Jetmore was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of depressants, possession of unlawful weapons and the use of a communications device to facilitate drug transactions. Additional charges may be added as the investigation progresses. Cohoon is currently lodged in the Hodgeman County Jail on $32,500 bond.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted Monday by the Dodge City Police Department, Special Agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigations and Troopers from the Kansas Highway Patrol. Sheriff Ridley declined to comment on whether other individuals might be arrested in connection with the investigation.
