Acting on investigative leads the Hodgeman County Sheriff's Office located a site in southwest Hodgeman County where marijuana was found growing. The plants were well concealed in underbrush near a water source and were in various stages of development. Cultivated mature marijuana plants can easily produce more than $1,000 in marijuana per plant and there is a nationwide push by law enforcement each year to locate and eradicate marijuana before the buds can be harvested. Sheriff Ron Ridley advised that the Sheriff's Office destroyed 625 plants which had growing at this single location. This site had been under surveillance for several weeks and the Sheriff's Office's investigation is on-going.
