The Hodgeman County Sheriff’s Office has a new Deputy Sheriff on board. Shawna Bloedorn has joined the Sheriff’s Office and has been in orientation for several weeks. Deputy Bloedorn will be filing the position being created by Deputy John Whistler’s military deployment to Horn of Africa later this month and will be with the Sheriff’s Office through the term of his deployment, which is expected to be at least 12 months.
Deputy Bloedorn is a native of Colorado and began her law enforcement career in 2005 as a communications officer for the Lane County Sheriff’s Office until she joined the Kearny County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Deputy in late 2005. Bloedorn left Kearny County in 2008 to rejoin the Lane County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff where she worked until 2010.
Sheriff Ron Ridley stated, “We are excited that we were able to recruit a deputy of her caliber to fill Deputy Whistler’s slot while he is overseas.”
