The Sheriff's Office strives to recruit the best possible applicants for open positions. Regardless of position, you must be 21 years of age and have the highest moral & ethical standards to be considered. Some positions will require that you are KLETC certified or have the ability to be certified through reciprocity.
You may submit a letter of interest and a resume for consideration. You will be sent a basic application so that the Sheriff's Office can make a determination if you meet the minimum qualifications. If you meet the minimum standards you will be required to complete a detailed personal history statement prior to an interview being granted.
Following your interview, you will be subject to a thorough background investigation, a physical, and will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. You may also be subject to a polygraph or a CVSA at the discretion of the Sheriff.
