INFORMATION REQUEST GUIDELINES

The Kansas Open Records Act (KSA 45-215 et seq.)
guarantees citizens the right to obtain copies of public records
that are not exempt from disclosure by specific provisions of the
law.  Citizens have a right to obtain a copy a copy of the
Hodgeman County Sheriff's Office's procedures for access to
records, and to request the assistance from the designated
Freedom of Information Officer.

The Sheriff's Office may require that requests be submitted in
writing and a $5.00 fee will be required for certain types of
reports.  If your request for information is denied, the Sheriff's
Office will provide specific reasons for the denial and the
requester has the right to receive such response in writing.

Your request will be completed within three (3) business days
from the date the request was received.  If your request is denied
or delayed, you will receive a written explanation for the denial
or delay.
